HELP!

Yes, HELP! That's what I need.

Everything started like this:

In my school, the CCAs are classified into either Champ! or Star! Champ! are basically those Performing Arts, Sports, and Uniform Groups CCA. As for Star!, it is more for clubs and societies. It is compulsory to have a Champ! CCA while Star! is optional.

Few weeks ago, before I started knowing that Secondary School life is so so busy, I decided to sign up for Star! CCA. I put Oratorical (Debate) Society as my first choice, followed by Science Society.

In order to join Science Society, I must take a Science Aptitude Test. And I took it. Reason being: Just for Fun. As there is a Maths Aptitude Test(which is compulsory for all) and the Science Test, all I want is just simply test my ability.

And, I am choosen to join Science Society. I can either choose to accept or reject. Same goes for Oratorical Society. At this moment, I can still say "NO" to it.

But, you see, my Science is sort of my forte. And, the oratorical society seems.. interesting. But, there is a BIG problem. I HAVE NO TIME!!!

Let's take a look at the time-table:

Monday: 3.15 / 6+(with Champ! CCA)
Tuesday: 6.15 (3rd language)
Wednesday: 1.45 / 5.30 (with Star! CCA)
Thursday: 1.45 / 3.15 (for even weeks)
Friday: 1.45 / 6+ (with Champ! CCA)

Fyi, my Champ! CCA should be Chinese Orchestra.

So, dear friends, please give me some advice...

Orientations

All right, due to time and everything, I only can blog today. D: Sorry if I can't remember everything in details. (Gosh, my memory. D:)

Day 2:

There is a school tour. "School tour" I mean. It's a kind of Amazing Race. Run here, run there, run everywhere. We also went the wrong way too. D: It started like this:

Everyone is waiting at the canteen. Then the SC went to collect the first clue. And when the game officially starts, we pour out all the clues in the envelop. It is a puzzle. Everyone all chiong-ed to the puzzle. I did not help. Firstly, everyone is surrounding it. So how do you squeeze in? Secondly, my puzzling skills sucks.. ;X

We took a looooooooooooooooong looooooooooooooong time to complete it. All the classes have left the canteen. And we are the only class there. D: It is kind of hard. We aren't really familliarised with the place. So we can't really tell where in the world is that place. Luckily, we have the SCs help. :D They were saying: "shao le yi ge 'wo' ". In other words, there is one less wall(wo). I was like thinking: what wall? I only know Wall-E. xD Haha. Anyway, thank you SCs.

Finally, we figured it out that it is a Wall-less classroom. But, where in the world is it? My mind is filled with question marks. How can a room does not have wall? Unless there are pillars. Went to the wrong place at first, then to that "Wall-less" classroom. -.-

There are only 3 walls, unlike the normal ones. Not very sure why is it like that. Hear the girl-guides talk about the surroundings, like the "zheng xin yuan" and blahblah. Never pay much attention. ;X

At that station, we played a so called volcano game. We have to form 4 groups of 9. Everyone in the group must stand inside a small triangle. We cannot step out. According to the guides, they said that the triangle is surrounded with hot "lava". Standing inside the triangle will make us "safe". Then they put some waterbottles(all belongs to us) around us. We are suppose to get all the waterbottles without getting out of the triangle.

Completed the game and win ice-cream sticks. Claps! These ice-cream sticks will be converted into points. :D

Then moved on to the next station. Once again, puzzle! Ahaha. But this time we are fast. Its easy to spot that it is a basketball court. Ran all the way from third storey (I think) to first storey and to the basketball court.

In this station, we have a leader in each group. 4 groups of 9 i think. There will be one leader in each group. Everyone are to be blind folded, except the leader. The leader is suppose to lead us up the chair (those type in canteen) then up the table (also the canteen type) and then down the chair and down to the ground.

We used those long strips of black garbage bag to blind fold ourselves. Don't worry, it is clean. Haha.

Halfway through the game, the blindfold suddenly fly away. I was like Omg. And I dont' know why, I let go off my teammates shoulder. Btw, we hold each other shoulders to get up and go on. Then I am like a blind mouse. D: Anyway, I felt alittle paiseh. ):

Then the game ended, proceed to the next station. I have forgotten what is the clue, so nevermind. Went to HanMeiLou. It is a sort of place for music stuff. Some performing arts cca room are there.

Enjoyed my time there (have aircon xD). We played the "ScissorsPaperStone-Chair game". Sounds weird but nevermind. There is a row of chairs. At each side, there are people standing while waiting for their turn. So a person from each side have to move to the other side by moving their butts ont the chair. And when they meet, they have to do a ScissorsPaperStone. The winner will continue moving to another side, while the loser will get out. The opponant must prevent the person from reaching the end of the row of chair. And blahblahblah.

After that, I suppose we went near the "eco-garden". Btw, the eco-garden haven't ready yet. As there is a class playing that game, we have to wait for them to finish.

We are suppose to blindfold ourselves, using that garbage bag(again). We have to get into groups of 4. Each group have to act as a type of animal. We are seperated from each other and the objective is to find our members back. My group got cat. Meow! Haha. xD We manage to find each other very soon. I was like.. meowing here and there. xD

Then went to the last station. Missed it due to the delay. D: Such a sad case, we can't get any ice-cream stick. But, what happened next is so so so funny. There is this guy. He said he want a cheer from us. The louder it is, the more the ice-cream stick. At first he wanted to give 2. Then the SC Kiat Shing go say:" One more stick, one more stick!" And yes, he gave us one more stick. :D

Next, he said that if we can say out his name, he can give us ice-cream sticks. Then there is like silence. Suddenly Amy shouted out that he is the most handsome guy in DHS. (Ahem). Haha. Then the Kiat Shing used the same trick. "Handsome, handsome." Everyone followed. End up have ice-cream stick. xD

As we are the last class at that station, we requested him to give us all his sticks. He refused. Luckily Kiat Shing go snatch from him. Got extra 3! :DDD

I suppose that is the end of Day 2.

Now to Day 3.

It is CCA Orientation day. Went to different CCA room to see. Sing Mei said that by the end of the day, our pockets will be full of free gifts. Haha. Every CCA room we go, they will give free gifts. Haha.

Went to see choir first. Can eat popcorn! xD Then go a so called admission ticket. Haha. Next is the string ensemble. Got those sort of clip to clip papers together. Quite a good gift. xD

If I am not wrong, we then go to the EDS CCA first. EDS means English Drama Society or English Dance Society. They performed and got a small ziplock bag. It contains sweet, and a lollipop looking thing. The ziplock bag is useful! Can put all the mini mini free gifts inside. :D

We then went next door to see the Chinese Society CCA. Got free balloon! LOL! Ahaha. They showed us videos of their SYF think, instead of real perfoming. But the dance is real, not video.

Next, we went to the HanMeiLou. I was looking forward to going to that CO room! We have to take out our shoes before entering. Then put all the free gifts on the floor. Carrying those things is seriously very troublesome. Suggestions: provide paper/plastic bags for us to put everything in! But it is kind of bad for the earth - wasting resources/ using non-biodegradable stuff. ):

First when to that CO room! Love CO <333! When I enter, there is this girl who called my name. Then I was like smilling to her, she looks a little familliar. I was like thinking: Who is she? Do I know her? I asked her for her identity. I was shocked to know she is Allan's sister - Mabel Chek!
I was like OMG! O_O

I suppose we entered the wrong room. The SCs called us out to go to the GuZheng room first, then the CO room. Awws..

After some of the GuZheng talk/performance, went to the CO room again! And saw Mabel Chek again! Haha. The people in CO did some introductions, then perform alittle. Oh yes, I saw that... Hai Luo thing. That SeaShell! xD Its cute in someway. That is the instrument that Alcalvie and Shane blew during SYF for Yue Yun Chu Zheng. Miss that song.

Of course, to the free gift part. xD They gave us a cup, with some designs they drew, and a calendar card. Before leaving the room, MC(Mabel Chek) told me I must join CO. Without any hesitation, I said:"Yes I will!" :D

Went next door i think, for the Band CCA. They introduce about the instuments, blah and stuff. We also got the calendar like the CO one. Just that the "content" and drawings are different. One promoting CO, another Band.

Next is the Uniform Group. Seriously, I am not planning to join UG. I prefer Performing Arts. :D What i like the most in the Orientation for UG is the mashmallow at the Girl Guides station! Get to "barbeque" it. Its nice! :D

And for the St John's Ambulance Brigade, have the "Duo Mao Mao game". Have to find the things at the wrong place. SingMei and I found one. Thanks to the senior's help. :D Got one free chocolate. (:

NPCC and Scouts quite boring. ;X Wait, girls can't join scouts! LOL! Haha. xD

Then have sort of talks about CCA in Auditorium. And its the end of the day! :D

title: Orientation Day 1
date: 08 January 2009

By the time I reached school, I already saw people sitting down in their classes, waiting for morning assembly to start. Woah, thats quite early. When to find my class and settle down. We are to sit in 1 row, according to our register number. I am number 19. Thats, a little very far behind as compared to CKPS. I suppose its due to the greater number of girls than boys in DHS. There are 36 pupils in my class- 25 girls and 11 boys(Crazy). While in CKPS, there are 42 pupils- 14 girls and 28 boys. Compare the difference.

Then all of us stand to sing the national anthem, school song and take the pledge. I still don't know how sing school song. -.- Sounds like marching song. Then there is announcement. The announcer sounds like a korean. Her accent is... Im not very used to it. Abit of "ang mor" mix "korea" type of accent.

After the announcement, the commander shout don't know what command then everyone clap. All the year ones like.. blur blur, wondering why the seniors clap. Haha.

After the morning assembly, we went to the auditorium(the smaller one) for some so called lectures. They brief us about what subjects will we be taking and stuff. Is like quite alot. Faints. And I suppose we having double science. Idk.

When the lecture has end, we have some break at the canteen. There is 16 stalls in our canteen. Woah. Compared to CKPS, its like twice as much. Furthermore, from next week onward, we can go to the canteen at hostel if we are having lunch. But of course, as it's a hostel, we must keep quite, blahblahblah.

Then we went to class. I forgot what we do le. ;x The list say its some Class Administration or what. Idk. We also have ice breakers games, but once again, I forgot what games we played. Gosh, Im suffering from STM! HELP! Ahaha.

I suppose its about 12+ when we have our lunch after the ice breakers games. Seriously, its either our canteen is small or there are too much students. Everytime during lunch time, the canteen will be fully packed. Long queues here and there. By the time you have bought your food, there will be no time you to eat. -.-

Then later have don't know what.. Sing-a-long session. Idk for what. Like very.. "wuliao". Sing that Lollipop (bang bang tang) song- wo men zhi jian. Kind of wasting time. Hall have air-con but they don't want on. -.-(then what's the point of having it?) As we are suppose to wear our tie on monday, everyone was complaining about the heat. Seriously, it's hot. I start to pity the prefects in CKPS.

Next, we went to parade square for some games. Then drizzled and rained. So we did not have a chance to play. We went back to our respective classes. For my class, we played those guessing games. Something like "sheray"(idk how it's spelled as).

After everything, we write some form of reflection in our orientation booklet.

Take bus 12 all the way back. Parents afraid idk how go back by bus 158. They asked me take bus 12 safer. And yes, I got lost. T.T

When you walk out of the school gate, on your right is the 158 bus-stop. As its my first time going back home ALONE, I am not very sure where in the world is the bus-stop for bus 12. So I walk to my right. I kept walking and walking. And walking and walking. Then I noticed that something was wrong. Very wrong. I have a feeling that I am walking the wrong direction. And yes, it is. T.T

At that moment, there were 3 maids walking opposite my direction. And when I turn round to walk back to the school, the 3 maids stared at me. The feeling is like.. so paiseh. Seriously.

I continued walking. And walking and walking. In my mind, I am kind of fustrated. So I kept walking straight. Then, there was a traffic light. You can turn right, left, or walk straight. I was like.. woah. Where to walk?

From where I was standing, I saw a bus-stop on my left. It will be natural for you to think that it MIGHT be the number 12 bus-stop and walk towards that direction. And so I did.

As I walked, I was praying that it's number 12 bus-stop. However, it wasn't. Wtf. No choice, have to walk back. AGAIN. Walk back to the traffic light. T.T

Help lah! I am lost!!! Called my father to ask for help. He told me where to go, blah, then...

FINALLY!!! That number 12 bus-stop!!! Wtf. Walk so long, to and fro just to find that bus-stop. I'm so tired. T.T

What was worse is that I saw that 3 maids again! Wth. They are staring at me again. It's so paiseh. T.T

But I manage to get home safe and sound. Haha. But at least, now I know how to get to that bus-stop. :)

That's all for Orientation Day 1. Bye peoples.

title: 2nd January(1st day of school)
date: 05 January 2009

2nd January(1st day of school)

Woke up early in the morning, around 5.50. Get everything done and leave home at about 6.40. Today is rather special as we have to reach DHS earlier, at around 7.45. Went to eat breakfast with my dad before going to school.

Seriously, I am not used to eating so early in the morning. Its like.. kind of no appetite. Plus, when in ckps, recess is my breakfast. Hence, its kind of.. not used to it. But my dad forced me to do so as breakfast is really important. But the problem is, I just can't eat so early in the morning. Maybe I just need sometime to adapt to it.

Reach school at around 7.20. Gosh. There are so many cars along the Kampong Arang/ Tanjong Rhu road. It suppose to have 2 places for parents to alight their child. One at Kampong Arang road, which is behind of the school. While the other one is at the front gate there. However, as construction works are not fully done yet, parents can only alight their child at Tanjong Rhu road.

Entered the school gate and was like.. WOAH, so many people. I am feeling alittle lost over there. There are no signs telling us where to go. And I was finding my class. All I saw was many seniors gather in their own group. Seriously, I didn't know where to go. Here? Or there? Where?
I decided to stand at one side to "observe" the situation. In my mind, I was thinking, What to do arh? Where to go? Follow who? Should I ask for help? But ask who?

I was smart enough to know that Year1 don't have school badge. But that didn't really help much.

Few minutes later, a few groups of students went up. "Follow? Follow not?" As seconds passes, more and more students are going up the hall. Instinct told me to follow majority. xD

Went up the spiral staircase. Be careful, might become giddy. xD

Then I just follow the crowd as I seriously have no idea where to go. Then saw some signs of where to go. Follow the signs. Finally, got to the side entrance. Ah, aircon. So cooling. xD. Went in and find my class. 1H. Just settled down. A girl was sitting next to me. I was hesitating if I should make the first move to greet her. And I didn't.

Then comes a boy and a girl. The girl come later, so the boy sat in between us. Everyone were sitting quietly when one SC(student counsellor) told us to stand and brought us down to that "circular place". Down the stairs, I decided to talk to someone, that girl who came later.

"Hello."
"Hi."

Blah, blah, blah. Yes, 1 new friend. My first friend in DHS! :) Her name is Mirabel. She is from Red Swastica. She come here through DSA(GuZheng).

Then we stayed at the "circular place" for a while, not more than 5 minutes, we go up the hall again. -.- Wth. Bring us up and down.

When we are in the hall, I pluck up my courage and talk to the other girl. She is Jalyn, from Casuarina. She got 264 for PSLE leh. Woah. 2nd friend. :)

Later, there was a concert. A home-coming concert. Its to celebrate the return of Dunman High School back to Tanjong Rhu from Mt Senai. Seriously, the performance is so much better than CKPS. CKPS all concert can expect the same thing over and over again. But for DHS, they have new things. (Or should I say this is my first time seeing their concert, so I find it good?)

They have items like: Chinese dance, uniform grp perfoming, sports, air weapon, WuShu, etc.
Its seriously great! Haha.

After concert, they settle some stuff. Cut the long story short. MingShun went to 1D. Back to P1 class. Heh.

Amazingly, the names of the teachers also sound the same.

My form teacher is Miss Chia. xD Haha. She is a chinese teacher. Strange. Form teacher is our chinese teacher. She is also MingShun's chinese teacher.

In chinese, we call her "Xie Lao Shi". When MingShun and I were P1(same class), chinese teacher was Mr Seah(Xie Lao Shi). So its the same! MingShun's form teacher is Miss Ng. Our P1 form teacher is Mrs Ng. Woah.

Know about 6 friends today. Hehe. Including those 2 I have mention just now. Know Kathleen(sounds like Catherine somehow). She's from NanChiau Primary. Dsa here with academics. She got 267 for PSLE. Woah. T.T Why all so pro? And also, another girl called Cheryl, from Geylang Methodist Primary(I think). Got 257. Finally. :)

Then when I was walking out from school, 2 girls from my class greeted my first. They are Angelina and Ashlyn(I think). Angelina is from Coral if I am not wrong, while Ashlyn is from somewhere in Toa Payoh.

I suppose thats all for day 1. Bye.
